Right, so we get back from the UK literally on Monday evening (after a particularly long flight alone with my boisterous toddler may I add) and my sweet, sweet mama (AKA Birdie) and hubs come to collect us. That evening felt lovely to be home and I soaked in all the time I could with my lovely little family before the mayhem began. The very next morning we had to clean the house (yes, I know it's an RV) and buy a little bit of shopping, unpack all of our baggage and then had a large potluck dinner to say adios to friends. What a turn out! I wish I had taken some good pics that night but got caught up enjoying the moment instead :) After a long day we turned in for the night and woke early again on Wednesday. My mumma took a cheeky day off work and got to hang out with us ALL day which was perfect. We packed up and hunkered down the house then went with her to buy her new (used) VW -- exactly the same as ours :) That evening we hung out at her's for dinner and snuggles.
Thursday morning while planning to head out early we changed our minds and had our very last farewell with our newest and dearest besties (LOVE YOU THREE!). They made a delicious breakfast which we scoffed; sorted some cool music for our trip; and then gave us our last hugs! Boo :(
My bubs and W&J's bubs, M :)
Finally back home and ready to roll we had a bit of a mad dash to fill our propane in the allotted time, pick up our UHUAL hitch for towing the car, and beating traffic.. Just a little glitch with hooking up the tow hitch to our pretty ancient rig!
??
I don't even know.
G and hubs fix everything!
Bubooshka was just a little poorly... :(
After a few un-calculated for hours we started our journey and arrived in Sonora, TX (home of some pretty amazing caverns) at 3am. Whoops! Here's a couple pics of our awesome visit there: (PART 3 to come soon, gotta go for now!) Love, love, love!
By the way, I drove for about 8 minutes. Scariest experience of my LIFE. Including skydiving and childbirth.
Arriving at 3am...
Morning peacocks!
And Sonora Caverns. Texans, go check this out!!!
Oh wow, we made the blog! I feel so honored. We loved spending your final Houston breakfast with you before your adventures began. The caves looked awesome and I cannot wait to see more posts about the whole trip. Kudos to you for posing long enough in the drivers seat for a picture!
ReplyDeleteHaha, glad you are still following - sorry I haven't looked in to the subscribers stuff yet :/
ReplyDeleteMore pics hopefully coming today if Fin allows! :)
Being in the driver's seat was the most frightening thing of my life - kuddos to YOU both for being able to handle it!!!!! xo
