A LITTLE OUTSIDE AND RESORT VIEW...

Deceptively simple living

The sun is shining and life is good. Minus the 13 repairs taken on each day. And yes, that unlucky 13 was not just a silly random estimate. It was a serious random estimate. Sometimes you just feel unlucky. Don't get me wrong though, writing this I don't feel down - we are doing great! There are just so many bloody things to maintain and new systems to learn and master. Life is simpler, and so enjoyable. But everywhere you turn there's some part of this 18 year old motorhome that could use some work. I have to say - if anyone is up to it, handy hubs is definitely the man. He is yet to give up on something and get overwhelmed with work. We just take each step, each task, each day at a time. Keeping up maintenance is helping us both learn and feel more in touch with our home. "Home" officially doesn't feel weird to say anymore. Tomorrow I will strive to take some nice day time pictures. This place is truly lovely (for a man-made resort in the middle of the 6th largest metropolitan city in the US)! Just wanted to share. Everything takes work. Keep on truckin' :)

move in pictures

We're pretty much unpacked. Granted there's a small amount of things to be re-sorted through at the storage unit, but not much. We are very close to finished - or we'll keep telling ourselves that anyway. So for now here are some photos for your curious minds. This is our house. Permanently. For now.
Enjoy!

THIS IS ROO. SHE IS AWESOME. I need to take some better pictures of the outside and the park we are in.

This is the forbidden zone. Everything large, dangerous, and/or pokey stays up front while we aren't driving. Hence the baby gate. In this picture there is a pile of flattened moving boxes on the left as well as two rigged up fishing poles; power tools and general man-stuff on the floor; folding high chair and tray in the middle with hubs' shoes wedged in front; 2 yucky fish buckets with other shoes shoved inside them; a random spare bike wheel; and a big tub containing bleach and other things to go outdoors later.

This is bubs' play nook. He likes to crawl and explore everywhere but I tend to try to keep all the toys at one end to avoid the painful "LEGO step". Behind the toys is a small side table which is currently in the folded down position.

This is Finley playing in the nook. It looks much more fun now, right? :)

Here is our door [which remains locked all the time for this rascal]. Awesome hubs crafted an easily removable cover for the steps so cheeky bub doesn't get injured and can more easily access the door handle which he loves to swing on!! ;)

This is the couch (which makes a quite comfy double bed) and my cute birthday elephant cushions. Moving causes lots of laundry build up... whoops! At least it's all clean.

Love our mini kitchen :) Washed up this morning but left the things out to dry for a while - definitely the quickest option when there's no dishwasher around!

Our microwave turned storage cupboard is a convenient location for our favourite pictures. There will soon be more decoration all around but for now there's too much else to do! Inside is a tub of spices, lots of teabags, lollipops, farleys rusks, and bubs cheerios.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner - and large storage underneath too! This dinette also turns into another small bed. Hanging above is our coffee pot. 18 years old and it still works like a charm. On the right is another birthday gift from hubs - a cute little clock from Etsy.com who's face is made from an old map of South England. Bishop's Stortford is clearly marked. So cute!

Bathroom vanity. The sink is so low hubs has to do squats to wash his hands!! Love the his and hers cupboards and drawers on either side of the sink though. Also love my nursing mama art work - another great Etsy buy.

He's such a little follower :) Thankfully in this pic he isn't trying to unravel all the tp! Anyway, our bathroom is actually quite big for an rv. We love the full size shower and in this cupboard under the mirror is a little hidden laundry compartment - exciting!

Back of the coach = our bedroom. Sorry for the messy bed but that's something that only gets fixed after the afternoon nap! This is view 1 and below is view 2. The back window there obviously has the blind down at the moment, but on trips to the lake and such we keep that open all night and wake up to a great view of the sunrise! Also, it is so tinted you can get undressed for bed and no one can see a thing. Perfect!

View 2 from the bedroom [that's the bathroom through the door that you can see there]. At the foot of the bed is our large wardrobe/closet on the left and many more large drawers and our second tv on the right. There's also one above the forbidden zone but you can't see it in the picture. Oh, and also there is a lot of room for linens etc under the bed. (And then the engine below that!)

Anyway, that be's it for now. More to come after we're a bit more settled.
