Baby had a birthday! With a photo or two for your indulgence...

Sweet little bub turned one and we had an awesome party! My mum opened her home to all of our guests and we filled the place with some funky decorations and many things mustache-y. Bub's birthday was a "little man" themed gathering with ties and 'staches all around. (You can see most didn't last very long though - everyone was either holding them to their faces or ripping them off and scratching their irritated skin!)

Go me for being the only person to draw mine on!

He had a blast and was great entertainment throughout the afternoon. From hummus snacking to present opening, to photo posing and messy cake eating - he definitely provided all the fun! Unfortunately he was THE ONLY person at the party who refused to even try on a mustache! :) Still, he looked super sweet and thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Catch up

Hmm, what to update... 

Trips out with Roo have been great recently. Our last adventure was to a nearby lake with great swimming and fishing. Little Bro tagged along and caught all three of the delicious fish we grilled :) Unfortunately we haven't quite worked out every kink yet - the air conditioning breaker kept tripping (or something more technical than that :P) and the fridge seems to be dying a little more each trip. Before move in we have a good few things to fix or replace. Still, we have 5 weeks so if we step up our game we can (hopefully) have it all sorted in time. 

My sweet sister in-law arrives tonight! She's coming in from Louisiana to stay for the weekend and we haven't seen her in months so it's always a pleasure! Tomorrow is bubs' first birthday! We've been planning a Mustache Bash to celebrate and today I'll be finishing up all my baking and prep. Bowties and mustaches and fake formal wear all around :) We're so excited! I'm hoping to have everything set up tomorrow morning early enough to get to spend some of the day with bubs and hubs and his sis.

All attempts to sell off our stuff and shrink our amount of belongings are dragging. After this party is over it is knuckling down time! With only these few weeks left we may end up scrambling at the end... That's what comes with busy family life :)
